This is what happened one January when it rained incessantly.

I am sure that if my property was affected by the fury of water as some of the properties that were under water, I would not be posing like this. Please excuse me. I just wanted “proof” that I was there and the proof didn’t have to have me looking like a typhoon hit me. Actually, I came from a meeting as I would normally be wearing jeans on Fridays.

The Riviera on Vaal usually looks like this. You can see more of the hotel here after it became part of the Bon Hotels although nothing much changed really. I suppose only water has changed it, so far.

I'm a Philippine island girl in Africa, a Filipino-South African.
A mad banana woman that I am, I live "la vida loca". The banana part isnβt only because I'm Anna (Banana) but because an old boyfriend had observed that although Asian (yellow on the outside) I'm very much Caucasian in my way of thinking (white in the inside) and my actions, too. It's a rather accurate observation. I am that liberal-thinking and modern-acting Filipino... I remain my tragic-comedic self with a day job in slightly more serious field of Finance, Business Operations and Corporate Affairs.

Yes the power of nature to wield the elements such as water. Respect is what we need for nature.
It is amazing to think that the very thing that brings life to this planet is also the very thing that can destroy it… Water is certainly Schizophrenic. π
So true, including the Schizo part. π It’s also the beauty of nature and our world in general – danger and all. Thanks so much for your input here. π
Oh wow! That’s great for the South Coast. Actually, even Joburg is so dry. It drizzled a little last week and that’s it. We should be doing the rain dance already. π

Such a contrast with the drought we’re currently experiencing! I’ve almost forgotten what a green lawn looks like…

So true. Our yard looks hideous. We so need those rain clouds, definitely.

I remember this. We were still living in the Vaal Triangle at the time. These images are awesome.

No, unfortunately I understand that the Vaal area is severely stricken by drought. We now live on the Southcoast, KZN and it is wet, wet, wet.

Haha, just make sure you direct the raingods to the exact geo-coordinates. We can do with a little sunshine here.
