This is actually how it is spelled: Gypsey. They could have spelled it Gypsea. It’s a seafood restaurant, by the way.
Gypsies are nomadic people and thus the most transient people there are, I suppose. However, travelers in transit at airports are more transitory. But, my family and I were in a restaurant for the shortest time.
Hubby discovered a restaurant called Kaai 4 Braai at Quay 4, Mossel Bay Harbor. It looked like an interesting place as we could choose the meat to braai (barbecue).
The problem was the place was too busy and the only available table had us exposed to the wind which was too uncomfortable. It was a pity because the view was quite lovely.
Drinks had been ordered so we thought we could wait for another table. We first moved to the waiting area for some sunshine. For summer, it was a little cold. We also got to take some photos.
We really didn’t like waiting especially without a hint of how long the wait would be and it was still too windy so we decided to look for another place. We were about to get in the car and leave the harbor but my father found Sea Gypsey. We just wanted to eat already so it was better than driving around looking for a restaurant.
The two restaurants were basically the same, even with the ambience. Both were by the water. The difference was the food: seafood instead of meat, except two of us actually ordered something with meat and chicken. I wasn’t one of them. My son would have been one of them as he doesn’t like/eat seafood son. The servings were huge and the food was tasty enough. We did eat them quite quickly. So transient! π
It was a good enough lunch. It was fun. Maybe next time we can try Kaai 4 Braai.
You have very nice pictures here. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like fun. I can understand when you say the elder children turned out to be giants. Your son rather looks 24 than 14! I am going to visit the Gyp(sea) when I am in Mosselbay again
