Life in pictures

Sometimes, I look out, outside of my own little world. I look at where my old La Salle batchmates are and what they're doing, career-wise. I feel some disappointment and a lot of envy. I could have done better. I could have gone further. Then, I remind myself that happiness and success are not the same for everyone. I tell myself that we have different missions. My life purpose is unique to me. Perhaps, my work is merely a means to an end, that which leads me to my purpose. I have a calling. I believe I have an idea what my calling is. At the same time, I have made a career for myself. My career, I think, is more in line with my job instead of with my calling. I imagine a day when my calling becomes my career, a new career that is my calling. For now, as long as I find satisfaction in my life and everything in it, and I have bliss and contentment, I am good. I am happy. Cake day is every day, every day is cake day! And I must, therefore, stop weeping, in despair, every morning, when I look at my body. I need to make a choice: cake and other treats on a regular basis OR a better body (and arms and legs) that don't make me cry. It's sad when you lose the fast version of your metabolism.
